We invite you to take a look at our proud heritage.” In the late 1950 and 60’s the company became really popular with subcultures like mods, hippies, rockers, and skinheads. “Empathy begins with paying close attention to the world around us. We listen and respond to the needs of our customers, employees and other stakeholders.” But in the 1970’s the company was facing competition from other brands and brands make cheaper product overseas. “Integrity — doing the right thing Integrity means doing right by our employees, brands, company and society as a whole. Most of the times the record label do a tie in with Levis. “We pride ourselves on growing talent from within, and many of our senior-most leaders have risen through the company ranks over the past two or three decades.” This a good company to work for they promote they work from within. they also a loyal company too. “But to maintain our lead in the fast-changing fashion industry our leadership team also includes executives who bring leading-edge expertise and new ideas from other consumer companies and other industries.”

Oakley started in 1974 by Jim Janard. He started out by making bike grips in the back of his car. The special things about the grips is that they sucked up all the sweat from your hands so that you have better grip on the bike. It was a huge success. After doing that for two years he started to make goggles for people that rode dirt bikes. He called them eye shades it was the second Oakley product of all time. After a few years in the late 80’s he was driving in his convertible to San Diego and had on a pair of Rey Bans Wafers and realized that there is no protection on the side of your face from the sun. The only protection that there was if you were looking right at the sun. The name Oakley comes from his dog. Right when he stated to make the Blades people started really like the concept of what his glasses were and that they actually protected your eyes from the sun all around your face not just from the front. A lot of people in sports and pro sport stared to wear his glasses to block the sun rays in their eyes. Oakley put a lot thought in his glass design and he still do it till this day. These days Oakley had change the game when it comes to sunglasses. I think they the only ones that have a contracts with the US government and the police force. All of Oakley glasses is safest glasses out there. The number one competitor is Maui Jim. At the headquarters in California flies a skull and crossbones flag.

EOC week2
how fashion advertising changed since the mid-twentieth century? what are some of the differences between ads that appeared before the 1950s and those from the 1950's 1960s and today?
well in the 1950 the ads more of men rule the world and women have no rights.
well in the 1950's women have no rights at all.. so pretty much at this time women have no say in a ad.

in the 1960's ads our more softer than the 50's you seen more women and kids in the ads; and less down grade on females.

now days its a mix of people in ads. now the most of the ads are about sex. sex sells these days .
whats are some of theories related to fashion branding. what do they say about fashion branding as means of communicating with consumers. how do the contemporary ideas of hamiltion. that it is two different ways to fashion branding. like fragmentation, de-differentiation. for an example fragmentation is describes the separation of similar, mass-oriented groups and de-differentiation is the blurring of high and low cultures.
what type of meaning does grant mccracken associate with fashion products. i totally agree with grant that fashion marketing is one key to the creation and generation of future consumer consumption. also thats true how companies target there market by different subject of people.
exercise: trace the history of the fashion brand burberry.
it's a big change for burberry because in the days burberry was more focus on the army so that make most of there ads with mens on them with army gear. another reason burberry was know for the there water prof jackets. but now they ads got more colors and women and also cars. now its show the style of burberry not really the reason be hide it anymore.
