week 9 boc metrosexual

Being metro sexual does not by any definition mean someone is gay. Being metro sexual means that someone of one sex, contains similar characteristics to someone of the opposite sex. They can lead happy, healthy, heterosexual lives. "think of him as the anti-metrosexual, the opposite of that guy who emerged in the 1990s in all his pedicured, moussed-up, skinny-jeans glory. That man-boy was searching for his inner girl, it was argued. The retrosexual, however, wants to put the man back into manhood."http://www.divinecaroline.com/22264/38996-metrosexual-hipster-i-ll-take-neitherYou are pretty much right on the money. I believe people get more abuse for being metro sexual than homosexual just because they stand out more. People have a way of making too many assumptions. "Although metrosexual men were not responsible for bringing about the new gender revolution, they certainly succeeded in encapsulating much of it. While the term has fallen out of vogue, many of the changes associated with the metrosexual movement have survived".http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/therapy-matters/201104/where-did-all-the-metrosexuals-go. its not that big deal anymore it first came out if you look at now everybody doing it."A metrosexual may or may not appeal to everyone – whether women are attracted to them, or men aspire to be more like them. In any case, whether society ever becomes comfortable enough to truly embrace them, remains to be seen".http://www.onlinedatingmagazine.com/columns/datinginsideout/32-metrosexual.html

brini Maxwell is a really crazy person everything is retro and its a men too its crazy thats a dude dress up like a women and doing alot of shows"Unlike other male hosts of domestic programs such as Christopher Lowell, who only does interior design, or cooking with Emeril and even Queer eye for the Straight guy, Brini Maxwell’s show instructed viewers on fashion, manners, decorating, entertaining, cooking, and home repair. Like her female predecessors, Brini Maxwell was a full-service domestic diva, with one small difference: she was a he.” (Brand Story, Joseph Hancock, Pg.152)
Ben Sander did alot of thinking to come up with his charcter Brini Maxwell. “Sander’s collection of cookbooks, magazines, furnishings, and other mid-century delights would be used in every episode.” The Brini Maxwell show was on national televeison. After that happen the show kept getting more upgraded to new networks and new shows.
I think that Brini is targeted to young and older people get them that retro feel. target to women that stay at home and have kids.
the podcasts and videos on iTunes are great ideal. they market to all types of people. with this they can make they market better and bigger.

Most people have a strong attachment to their bags because they have a strong feelings about they bag. it also make them a part of higher status in life."For many women, purse shopping has changed from just finding an adequate accessory to being almost an obsession; a guilty pleasure.” (Brand Story, Joseph Hancock. Pg.126)
theres alot of fashion company i like out there, but some of them i cant afford. If I had to pick my favorite brand i would pick nudies. nudies bags are cool and stylish made with 100% raw denim jeans and handmade.
I think the company has definitely found their niche with children’s bags. its seem like they more focus on kids bag more now. thats they really big income. to me the their website that I really like, where they put up photos of their bags with celebrities. I think they have found a really great way to brand themselves in a cool way. they pay people to take picture with famous people using there bags.
I think it was brilliant that the company decided to pursue graphic design as well as bag design. cant really go wrong with graphic design and hand bags perfect combo. i think the brand is all that and more when comes to bags. who really designes bags like that now nobody. its a good thing and bad thing for them. for me im a dude so i dont have a bag (laugh). but if i had a bag it would laptop bag and i would buy of here bags for that.

Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals my target market income range from $15,000- $55,000 from high school students to young adults. By the ripe old age of 26, Johnny Earle had launched a multimillion dollar company that continues to grow through a type branding referred to as viral fashion branding. All of Johnny’s fashion branding has been implemented through self-promotion, word of mouth, or by using electronic methods such as e-mail and the internet.” (Brand Story, Joseph Hancock, Pg.109) For my clothing company I want to be able use viral fashion branding as a means to promote the company I want to do a lot Facebook and blogs, giveaways to get my name out there. boc week8

i been thinking for a long time for now of a great product. somebody should really make a pair of sunglasses with wiper on them. that would be so sweet because just picture yourself walking or running early morning it started to rain really heavy. why should you stay in and miss your workout. thats when wipe away comes in handy. so while you run or whatever you doing in the rain. the wipers will wipe off all the rain or dirty from your sunglasses. wipe away will turn on automatic when ever water or anything that wet hit it. alot of people can use these likes cops, golfers, people that play tennins or people that go fishing. they would be the coolest shades out there. a nice cool laid-back look comes in all colors and styles. even the lens comes in different colors with a mix between ray ban and oakley shades.

week 7 eoc

Viral Fashion branding is a type of company branding that becomes successful by self-promotion, word of mouth, or by using electronic devices. how johnny use it he made tons of money at a young age. no marketing company help him market his company. see you dont it right you can make a lot of money. but if you do it wrong your company can fail. he created a loyal customers base on his own terms
Johnny Cupcakes do a lot of little things to make their customers feel special. The company added surprises to the boxes when filling internet orders. Customers would find items such as trading cards featuring ninja turtles, Ghost busters, when people order stuff. to me thats pretty cool to do that. that will make the customers super happy. the product line and marketing campaigns continue to reflect Johnny’s passion for popular culture. Many of his T-shirt designs mimic ideologies that are reflective of twentieth –century style and popular logo design
In my opinion Johnny Cupcakes is a very unique brand. I think his story is amazing. He is a very passionate individual that built his brand fast and smart. but i dont really like him its designs are cool as hell. why i dont like him because i see myself in him some what. like the whole line thing and all. he beat me to the punch. but he just make me come even harder with my new designes.

week 6 eoc

The one thing i hate about a&f stores to much of that smell gets me and they need to turn the lights on. I feel that they have very youthful trendy looking clothing that has been popular for several years and seems to continue to be popular. I think that they keep that certain laid back, relaxed. “A&F attaches traditional outdoor and rugged iconic patches on sweaters, pants, and denim garments, which have allowed the retailer to gain strong brand recognition.” (Brand Story, Joseph Hancock, Pg 92)
the atmospherics like music, fragrance, lighting, and stores props can either help the overall brand message or it can hurt it. i think it hate the hurt the company in the long run. at first you didnt really see a lot of urban people on the displays and everybody hella skinny like they dont eat. so when teenage see this make them want to be skinny like the models.
i really hate that obnoxious smell and loud music gives me a headache, I think its too much and it hurt my eyes alot. i think they intimidate their customers by using extremely attractive models that only make their target market to hurt they body to look like them.

boc: week6

Most of Luxury Company now selling jeans are made in the united states. That’s why they cost of 300 hundred dollars. “Americans bought $13.8 billion of men's and women's jeans in the year ended April 30, according to market-research firm NPD Group. But only about 1% of jeans sold in the U.S. over that year cost more than $50”.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303365804576429730284498872.html?mod=WSJ_LifeStyle_LifeStyleFashion#printMode
another reason why people spend so much on over price jeans is because the name. people want to feel like they rich and want to be like they favorite celebrity. “Most premium jeans' cotton denim fabric comes from the primary maker of high-end denim fabric used in the U.S. and Europe: Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Denim, a unit of the International Textile Group.” http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303365804576429730284498872.html?mod=WSJ_LifeStyle_LifeStyleFashion#printMode
when people noicted how much the jeans really cost than they might think about spend a lot of money on they jeans. Pretty much the company is making a lot of money off they customer. Its cost some companies like 50 dollars to make there jeans than turn around and charge 375 dollars for one pair that’s crazy. For an example True Religion ‘It costs about $50 to make a pair of Super T jeans, True
Religion's best-selling style with oversized white stitching. But they wholesale price is 152 and the price that they is 352. Wow that’s crazy huh.

Most of the times the record label do a tie in with Levis. “We pride ourselves on growing talent from within, and many of our senior-most leaders have risen through the company ranks over the past two or three decades.” This a good company to work for they promote they work from within. they also a loyal company too. “But to maintain our lead in the fast-changing fashion industry our leadership team also includes executives who bring leading-edge expertise and new ideas from other consumer companies and other industries.”

Will Keith Kellogg had a strong commitment to nutrition, health and quality and founded Kellogg in February 19, 1906 but it was known as Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company. In 1922 the company produces and marketing the hugely successful Kellogg’s corn flakes. In the late 1950 two friends name Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight founded Nike. The first shoes were called knights. By the late 1970 they came up with the name Nike. The Swoosh was created by a graphic design student at Portland State University named Carolyn Davidson. After that Nike had blew up; you see it everywhere now. In the mid 1980’s Nike did a shoe deal with nba rookie star Michael Jordan Michael Jordan had took that made it what it is today. “We soak it up. We squeeze it out” the company is really big on Diversity & Inclusion. They believe that “to drip over everything Nike does and the Idea grows fallow. Or worse, it vanishes altogether.” “Diversity and Inclusion is fundamental to Nike’s performance. It’s what makes us better. It’s what makes us smarter. Oakley started in 1974 by Jim Janard. He started out by making bike grips in the back of his car. The special things about the grips is that they sucked up all the sweat from your hands so that you have better grip on the bike. It was a huge success. After doing that for two years he started to make goggles for people that rode dirt bikes. He called them eye shades it was the second Oakley product of all time. After a few years in the late 80’s he was driving in his convertible to San Diego and had on a pair of Rey Bans Wafers and realized that there is no protection on the side of your face from the sun. The only protection that there was if you were looking right at the sun. The name Oakley comes from his dog. Right when he stated to make the Blades people started really like the concept of what his glasses were and that they actually protected your eyes from the sun all around your face not just from the front. A lot of people in sports and pro sport stared to wear his glasses to block the sun rays in their eyes. Oakley put a lot thought in his glass design and he still do it till this day. These days Oakley had change the game when it comes to sunglasses. I think they the only ones that have a contracts with the US government and the police force. All of Oakley glasses is safest glasses out there. The number one competitor is Maui Jim. At the headquarters in California flies a skull and crossbones flag.

EOC week2

how fashion advertising changed since the mid-twentieth century? what are some of the differences between ads that appeared before the 1950s and those from the 1950's 1960s and today?
well in the 1950 the ads more of men rule the world and women have no rights.

well in the 1950's women have no rights at all.. so pretty much at this time women have no say in a ad.

http://totallytop10.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/mans_world.jpg

in the 1960's ads our more softer than the 50's you seen more women and kids in the ads; and less down grade on females.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gyopi/388318224/in/set-72157594532306562

now days its a mix of people in ads. now the most of the ads are about sex. sex sells these days .

whats are some of theories related to fashion branding. what do they say about fashion branding as means of communicating with consumers. how do the contemporary ideas of hamiltion. that it is two different ways to fashion branding. like fragmentation, de-differentiation. for an example fragmentation is describes the separation of similar, mass-oriented groups and de-differentiation is the blurring of high and low cultures.

what type of meaning does grant mccracken associate with fashion products. i totally agree with grant that fashion marketing is one key to the creation and generation of future consumer consumption. also thats true how companies target there market by different subject of people.

exercise: trace the history of the fashion brand burberry.
it's a big change for burberry because in the days burberry was more focus on the army so that make most of there ads with mens on them with army gear. another reason burberry was know for the there water prof jackets. but now they ads got more colors and women and also cars. now its show the style of burberry not really the reason be hide it anymore.

"Tan safely and remember to SLIP, SLAP, SLOP!
Slip on a Shirt - Slap on a Hat - Slop on Sunscreen"
http://www.harpoonlouiesrestaurant.com/community.htm

"Slip, Slop, Slap was also used in New Zealand, where the mascot is a lobster"

the skin cancer aware message of the campaign had successfully been absorbed into the Australian psyche.

A sun protection campaign that came out during the 1980s in Australia. it was launch by The Cancer Council Victoria. it was feature a lip sing dancing Sid Seagull. the song goes like : "Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide meaning that slap on a hat, seek shade, slide on some sunnies. the cancer aware message was successful in australia. but now new zealand use the campaign now but they use a lobster instead the singing seagull
